Week 3
Class is well under way and going great! My students are all wonderful and I look forward to seeing them each day. They received a study guide on Friday, which was also picture day, but hopefully had plenty of time to work on it in class. This study guide is due Monday and we will go over it for review and answer any questions. The first test in on Tuesday over Matter, Mixtures, and Changes. There are 3 extended response questions on the study guide and should be answered in paragraph form. On Wednesday, we will begin the unit on Atomic Structure. If all goes according to plan, the students will have their first lab with bunsen burners on Friday. Wednesday this week is club day (clubs meet each period). Please email or call me if you have an questions or concerns.

Week 2
Students are learning about Matter and Mixtures this week as well as Lab Safety. We did a chromatography activity on Tuesday and the students will be bringing a Lab Safety Contract home to be signed by the parent or guardian on Wednesday night. Please get these back as soon as possible, I must have them before the students can participate in chemistry labs. Also, the students will have a safety quiz on Thursday that they must score an 80% on or higher. They will retake the exam until the 80% is made. Expecting our first test early next week so stay tuned! Be sure to check out the link for photos on the home page!
